• He succeeded Justice H L Dattu (ex-Chief Justice of India), who completed his tenure in December 2020
• NHRC is a statutory body constituted in 1993.
• सुप्रीम कोर्ट के पूर्व न्यायाधीश अरुण कुमार मिश्रा (65 वर्ष) ने भारत के राष्ट्रीय मानवाधिकार आयोग (NHRC) के अध्यक्ष के रूप में शपथ ली है।

• Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has decided to give 33% reservation seats to girl students in engineering and medical colleges of Bihar
• This means at least one third of the seats in engineering and medical colleges will be reserved for girl students
• This will increase the number of girl students in the field of engineering and medical and will motivate girls towards higher and technical education
• बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार ने बिहार के इंजीनियरिंग और मेडिकल कॉलेजों में छात्राओं को 33 प्रतिशत आरक्षण देने का फैसला किया है।
• इसका मतलब है कि इंजीनियरिंग और मेडिकल कॉलेजों में कम से कम एक तिहाई सीटें छात्राओं के लिए आरक्षित रहेंगी।

• Telangana Govt will be conducting Digital Survey of agriculture lands in the state to make the state free from land disputes and provide security and protection to the land holders on a permanent basis
• It will be initially held in 27 select villages across the state on a pilot basis from 11^th
• 3 villages will be selected from Gajwel Constituency and 24 villages will be selected from 24 different districts
• It will be later expanded to to rural and urban areas.

• Centre has introduced new system for processing of Insurance claims provided under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package (PMGKP) Insurance Scheme for the Health Workers fighting COVID-19.
• This will streamline and simplify the processing of the insurance claims, it has been decided to start a new system for approval of claims.
• Due diligence will be done by State Govts at the level of District Collector in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure of the scheme.
